LOOKING FOR
SOMETHING?
My personal passions have created an
experiential background that will truly
enhance the work of arts institutions,
foundations that support the arts, and
individual artists seeking to increase their
talent and skill set in arts administration.
A graduate of Boston University's unique
Master of Science program in Arts
Administration, I am humbled by the
societal, educational, and cultural values
planted by artists, art students, and arts
organizations.
Below please find a summary of my work
in arts administration, arts programming,
and arts funding:
Arts Administration
I was fortunate to begin my career at the
Arts Center of Coastal Carolina, the third
largest arts institution in South Carolina.
While there, my work on the institutional
fundraising and development team
allowed me to demonstrate aptitude in
the following:
Strengthening sustainable programs
Building long-term resources
Leveraging funding partners
Seeking out collaboration
Arts Programming
While arts administration is significant on
an institutional level, working directly with
individual artists is also a fundamental
part of arts programming. I was pleased
to work with Diane Britton Dunham, the
honored artist at the Penn Center's 2006
Heritage Days Festival. In providing arts
marketing, exhibition assistance, and
business services to Diane, I had the
wonderful privilege of partnering with the
Penn Center, a landmark of South
Carolina's historic, cultural, and arts
community.
Arts Funding
While my first experience in seeking arts
funding was to develop a strategic
fundraising plan for Boston-based Artists
for Humanity as part of my graduate
studies, I gained a fuller understanding of
arts funding theories and practices when
I began my work at the foundation level.
I am currently working alongside the
grant-making team at Fondazione CRT in
Torino, Italy to devise an online
evaluation system to measure the social
impact of arts programming and
projects. We hope to have it up and in
service to our arts community soon!
